Prof. Masaru Tomita, a director general of Institute for Advanced Biosciences, Keio University (Tsuruoka, Yamagata, Japan), entitled "Lifetime Honorary of the International Metabolomics Society Fellow (Lifetime Honorary Fellow) " at the 13th International Metabolomic Conference held in Brisbane, Australia from June 25th to 29th 2017.
Lifetime Honorary Fellow is a very prestigious award given to individuals who have contributed significantly over the years to the development and research fields of the International Metabolomics Society.
Prof. Tomita was awarded as the 11th recipient and as the first ever as a Japanese and Asian for his contribution for holding the 1st International conference in Tsuruoka in 2005; and for being one of the strongest proponents of CE-MS approaches.
