Tsuruoka Bio-Community Designated as a "Regional Bio-Community" by the Cabinet Office
(21.06.25)
Tsuruoka Science Park--anchored by Keio University's Institute for Advanced Biosciences (IAB) and serving as the representative organization--has announced that the Tsuruoka Bio-Community has been officially designated as a "Regional Bio-Community" by the Cabinet Office.
This initiative aims to realize a bio-based circular economy through a collaborative ecosystem. The community integrates five Keio-originated bio-ventures--including Human Metabolome Technologies (HMT) and Spiber--alongside prominent research institutions within the Science Park, such as the National Cancer Center Japan and RIKEN. Together, these partners will drive innovation to build a sustainable society through advanced biotechnology, further establishing Tsuruoka as a global research hub.
