The Bio Finance Guild 2005 , a biotechnology training program for investors sponsored by Nikkei Business Publications, Inc., was held at the Institute for Advanced Biosciences on August 26-27, 2005.

A bioscience training program for Keio-affiliated high-school students was held on Aug 17-19, 2005. The event Summer Bio College 2005 was sponsored by the Institute for Advanced Biosciences and was also supported by Yamagata prefecture and Tsuruoka city.

A bioscience training program for high-school students from all over Japan was held on Aug 3-5, 2005. The event Keio Summer Bio Camp 2005, sponsored by the Institute for Advanced Biosciences was also supported by Yamagata prefecture, Tsuruoka city and Chemical Society of Japan.

The first annual meeting of the Metabolomics Society was held at the Institute for Advanced Biosciences on Jun 20-23 2005. 201 participants from 17 countries gathered to Tsuruoka Japan.
