Bioenergetic regulation Project
Bioenergetic regulation Project

ATP is a well-known bioenergy, and its depletion means the end of vital activity. Conversely, depletion of GTP, a similar energy molecule to ATP, causes different reactions, such as cellular dormancy; genetic mutations in the GTP synthesis pathway result in mental illness, vision loss, and immune depression. However, mechanisms of bioenergetic regulation remain largely unknown. We aim to elucidate the bioenergetic regulatory system through a multidisciplinary approach, using metabolic analysis and collaboration with national and international teams. We aim to identify the mechanistic roles of bioenergy molecules in cancer, metabolic diseases, and aging and develop new treatments for diseases.
