Functional RNA Analysis Project
We have been conducting research mainly related to RNA molecular biology and molecular evolution by combining bioinformatics and experimental biology. A typical example is the systematic discovery of functional RNAs such as long non-coding RNAs and microRNAs. Furthermore, we contributed to the discovery of disrupted transfer RNA (tRNA) genes and tRNA-like genes. In parallel with these functional RNA studies, we also report biochemical analysis and molecular evolution of enzymes involved in the regulation of RNA molecules.
